西方的感恩节，说到感恩节，为了庆祝这一隆重的节日，有家家户户吃火鸡的习俗，因而火鸡基本成了感恩节的标配。今天跟大家分享的绘本就是感恩节系列绘本《Turkey Trouble》。这本书可以让孩子们复习农场动物的名称，也可以通过动物的叫声等拟声词练习语音敏感读和语调。
Turkey was in trouble. Bad trouble.
The kind of trouble where it’s almost
Thanksgiving… and you’re the main course.
But Turkey had an idea…

但是火鸡想了一个办法…
What if he didn’t look like a turkey?
What if he looked like a horse?
Surely Farmer Jake wouldn’t eat a horse for Thanksgiving.
His costume wasn’t bad.
In fact, Turkey looked just like a horse…almost.
如果他看起来不像一只火鸡呢？
如果他看起来像一匹马呢？
农夫杰克肯定不会在感恩节去吃一匹马。
他的衣服不错。
实际上，火鸡看起来几乎就像一匹马…
“Mooooo…,” said Cow. “Stop horsing around, Turkey.”
“How’d you know it was me?” moaned Turkey.
“Too short,” said Cow.
“Gobble, gobble,” grumbled Turkey.
“哞…，”奶牛说。“别胡闹了，火鸡。”
“你怎么知道这是我？”火鸡悲叹道。
“你太矮了，”奶牛说。
“咯咯，”火鸡发着牢骚。

In fact, Turkey lookedjust like a cow…almost.

“Oink… oink…oink, snorted Pig.“Holy cow! Is that you, Turkey?”
“How’d you know it was me?” groaned Turkey.
“Too skinny, ” said Pig.
“Gobble, gobble,” grumbled Turkey.
But looking at Pig gave Turkey a new idea.
Surely Farmer Jake wouldn’t eat a Pig for
Thankinggiving.
“哼…哼…哼，”小猪用鼻子哼哼道。“天哪！那是你吗，火鸡？”
“你怎么知道这是我？”火鸡抱怨道。
“你太瘦了。”小猪说。
“咯咯，”火鸡发着牢骚。
但是看着小猪火鸡又有了新主意。
农夫杰克肯定不会在感恩节去吃一头猪。

In fact, Turkey looked just like a pig… almost.

实际上，火鸡看起来几乎就像一头猪…
“Baaa…baaa…,” bleated Sheep.
“Quit being a ham, Turkey.”
“How’d you know it was me?” wailed Turkey.
“Too clean,” said Sheep.
“Gobble, gobble,” grumbled Turkey.
But looking at sheep gave Turkey a new idea.

“咩…咩…，”小羊叫道。
“别犯傻了，火鸡。”
你怎么知道这是我？”火鸡哀号道。
“你太干净了。”小羊说。
“咯咯，”火鸡发着牢骚。
但是看着小羊火鸡又有了新主意。
农夫杰克肯定不会在感恩节去吃一只羊。
His costume wasn’t bad.
In fact, Turkey looked just
like a sheep… almost.
他的衣服不错。
实际上，火鸡看起来
几乎就像一只羊…
“Cock-a-doodle-doo!” crowed Rooster. “Baaa-d idea, Turkey.”
“How’d you know it was me?” howled Turkey.
“Too brown,” squawked Rooster.
“Gobble, gobble,” grumbled Turkey.
But looking at Rooster gave Turkey a new idea.
In fact, it was his best idea yet.
He already looked a lot like Rooster.
This costumewould be easy!
Surely Farmer Jake wouldn’t eat a rooster for Thanksgiving…
“咯咯哒！” 公鸡啼叫着。“这是个坏主意，火鸡。”
“你怎么知道这是我？”火鸡吼叫道。
“你的颜色太深了。”公鸡说。
“咯咯，”火鸡发着牢骚。
但是看着公鸡火鸡又有了新主意。
实际上，这是他最好的主意。
他看起来已经很像公鸡了。
这身衣服对他来说很容易。
农夫杰克肯定不会在感恩节去吃一只公鸡…
…or would he?
Rooster might be his next choice, Turkey
worried, since roosters and turkeys look so
much alike. Oh, gobble,gobble!
…也许他会？
公鸡可能是他第二个选择，
火鸡开始担心了，
因为公鸡和火鸡看起来太像了。
哦，咯咯！
Farmer Jake came into the barm.
“Turkey,turkey,turkey?
Come out,come out, wherever you are.”
农夫杰克走进谷仓。
“火鸡，火鸡，火鸡？
出来，出来，你在哪里？”
“Where’s the turkey?” asked Farmer Jake’s wife.
“I don’t know,” he said, “I looked everywhere!”
“Oh, dear. What will do without a turkey for Thanksgiving?”
“Well… we could always eat the rooster, I guess.”
“火鸡去哪里了？”农夫杰克的妻子问道。
“我不知道。”他说“我到处都找过了！”
“哦！亲爱的，如果没有火鸡感恩节我们该吃什么？”
“好吧…我觉得我们可以吃公鸡。”
Oh, no, not Rooster/thought Turkey.
He looked around desperately for one more idea.
Then, he found it…
哦不，不是公鸡！火鸡想道。
他环顾四周，拼命去想出一个想法。
然后，他找到了它…
His costume wasn’t bad…
In fact, it was Turkey’s best yet!
Ding-dong…
“Happy Thanksgiving!”
“Did you order a pizza?”
asked Farmer Jake’s wife.
“Nope,” he said. “But it’s a good idea.”
他的衣服不错…
实际上，这是他最好的衣服！
叮咚…
“感恩节快乐！”
“是你订的披萨吗？”
农夫杰克的妻子问道。
“不是。”他说，“但是这是一个好主意。”
So they all sat down and gobbled up the pizza.
因此他们都坐下了并且狼吞虎咽地吃起了披萨。
And it was Turkey’s best Thanksgiving ever!
并且这也是火鸡最好的感恩节！
